Project Description

True peanut butter lovers know there are few things better than the rich, creamy and nutty taste of peanut butter. This classic spread has been a pantry staple for ages. But lately a category disruptor by the name of powdered peanut butter has been changing the game by raising the bar on quality, taste and nutrition.

Maybe you’ve seen powdered peanut butter at your local grocery store, but you weren’t quite sure what it was. We’re here to explain it all for you.

powdered vs regular peanut butter

OK, so what is it?

Powdered peanut butter is made by pressing out most of the natural oils from roasted peanuts. The nuts are then ground into a fine powder. You can use the powder to dress up all sorts of other foods and in recipes. You also can rehydrate the powder with water to make the creamy peanut butter paste we’re all familiar with. Just like regular peanut butter production, the rich, toasty flavor of the roasted nuts is retained.

Standard peanut butter typically has about 190 calories, 16 g of fat and 7 g of protein per serving. (A serving here is defined as 2 tablespoons.) By comparison, powdered peanut butter is a lower-calorie-and-fat option. It has an average of just 60 calories, 1.5 g of fat and 6 g of protein per serving. It’s great for consumers who are looking to cut calories or meet specific fitness goals.

What’s exciting about it?

Powdered peanut butter is packed with that good ol’ “PB flavor” that you love. However, it contains 90% less fat and 70% fewer calories than what you’ll find in regular peanut butter. The powdered version is extremely versatile as either a powder or a paste. Additionally, it’s an excellent source of fiber and protein, averaging 4-6 grams of protein per serving.

Our PB2 products are kosher, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO – perfect for meeting consumers’ needs with a wide variety of dietary preferences.

But does powdered peanut butter really taste good?

Oh, yes indeed! It is simply traditional peanut butter reimagined; it delivers that same incomparable peanut taste you know and love. Even better, the powder contains little fat, so it mixes more easily with other liquids than regular peanut butter does. It can also be used as a dry seasoning, while regular peanut butter is just, well, regular peanut butter. Our fans enjoy PB2 sprinkled on their oatmeal, blended into smoothies, added to sauces or mixed into batters.
