These rich Chocolate Peanut Butter Donuts are the BEST weekend treat! Baked in the oven, this easy donut recipe comes together in very little time and is dipped in a decadent chocolate-peanut butter icing.
Instructions
Make the Donuts
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
-
Spray a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
-
Combine the melted butter and sugar in a glass bowl, whisking together until smooth.
-
Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
-
In another bowl, measure out the flour, PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter with Cocoa, baking powder and salt. Stir to mix.
-
Sprinkle the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined
-
Transfer the batter into a pastry bag or a gallon-sized zip top bag. Seal and snip the tip, then carefully fill the donut pans in a circular motion. (You can also carefully dollop three tablespoons of the batter into each of the donut molds and spread them, careful not to cover up the center so the donuts have holes.)
-
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Make the Icing
-
Sift the powdered sugar, PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter with Cocoa and salt into a large bowl.
-
Measure in the vanilla extract and milk. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth.
-
Carefully dip the cooled donuts into the icing.
